Learn About RESTASIS®

What is RESTASIS® Ophthalmic Emulsion?

RESTASIS® is the only prescription eye drop that helps increase your eyes’ natural ability to produce tears, which may be reduced by inflammation due to Chronic Dry Eye. RESTASIS® Ophthalmic Emulsion did not increase tear production in patients using topical steroid drops or tear duct plugs.

How Does RESTASIS® Help?

When your natural ability to make enough tears is reduced, your eyes may not have enough tears to lubricate and protect them. Chronic Dry Eye (CDE) is a medical condition that can result from the eyes’ reduced ability to make tears.

Some people who suffer from CDE use over-the-counter (OTC) eye drops. Over time, some people need them more and more often. They may also find that using different kinds or brands of eye drops aren’t enough. Using OTC eye drops can help moisten your eyes, but they cannot help increase tear production—and provide only temporary relief.

RESTASIS® Ophthalmic Emulsion helps increase tear production in cases where it may be reduced by inflammation due to CDE. RESTASIS® can help you make more of your own tears.

Don’t wait until your next annual appointment. If you’ve used several types of eye drops, several times a day, for a long time, you may have a chronic condition called CDE. Take action. Talk to your eye doctor now and ask if a prescription for RESTASIS® Ophthalmic Emulsion is right for you.
