The Keys to Successful Treatment

RESTASIS® is approved to be used twice a day, one drop in each eye in the morning, and again, approximately 12 hours later, in the evening. As with any medication, it is important to follow your doctor’s instructions in order to achieve results. Consistent application of RESTASIS® Ophthalmic Emulsion, as directed by your doctor, is essential to allowing the medication to do its work. It may take a while before you experience the results of increased tear production.

Starting Your RESTASIS® Therapy

RESTASIS® is approved to be used twice a day, with one drop in each eye in the morning, and again in the evening. No two patients respond to any medication in exactly the same way. Depending on your condition you may experience the effects of RESTASIS® Ophthalmic Emulsion within a month. The first thing many patients using RESTASIS® may notice is they are using artificial tears less and less.

Long Term Expectations

There is no permanent cure for Chronic Dry Eye (keratoconjctivitis sicca). In order to continue enjoying the benefits of increased tear production, you will need to continue using RESTASIS® Ophthalmic Emulsion twice a day, every day, even after tear production has been increased.

Staying on Therapy with RESTASIS®

Because treating a certain type of Chronic Dry Eye with RESTASIS® Ophthalmic Emulsion is a continuing process, Allergan, the makers of RESTASIS® have created a program to reward you for staying on therapy. The My Tears, My Rewards® enables you to receive many valuable offers, including a FREE tray of RESTASIS® after filling seven prescriptions. Click here to enroll.

RESTASIS® Ophthalmic Emulsion helps increase your eyes’ natural ability to produce tears, which may be reduced by inflammation due to Chronic Dry Eye. RESTASIS® did not increase tear production in patients using topical steroid drops or tear duct plugs.
