What Is Chronic Dry Eye?

When your eyes are healthy, they make enough tears. This creates a healthy tear film that protects and nourishes the eye. When your eyes do not make enough tears, this can upset the balance of the tear film, allowing it to break down rapidly and create dry spots on the cornea, the clear front surface of the eye. Important Safety Information:

RESTASIS^® Ophthalmic Emulsion should not be used by patients with active eye infections and has not been studied in patients with a history of herpes viral infections of the eye.
