RESTASIS® (Cyclosporine Ophthalmic Emulsion) 0.05% Prescription

How RESTASIS® Works

More of Your Own Tears:
RESTASIS® Is Different From
Artificial Tears

It is important to understand that RESTASIS® and RESTASIS MultiDose® are not artificial tears. They are prescription medicines.

Artificial tears, such as REFRESH® OPTIVE™ Advanced Lubricant Eye Drops, are over-the-counter lubricants that help moisten the eyes and provide temporary symptom relief, but they do not increase the eyes' ability to produce their own tears. However, they can be helpful as RESTASIS® or RESTASIS MultiDose® begin to work for eye dryness to increase production of your own real tears. Allow 15 minutes between the use of each product.

If you’re bothered by red eyes, gritty-feeling eyes, watery eyes, or blurred vision, and you feel like you’re using artificial tears too frequently, take the Dry Eye Quiz. Then make an appointment with an eye doctor to see if RESTASIS® or RESTASIS MultiDose® might be right for you.

Be sure to bring your Dry Eye Quiz results to the appointment to show how bothersome you find your dry eyes.
