There are several ways to manage Chronic Dry Eye disease if your eyes are
not making enough tears.
With continued use twice a day, every day, RESTASIS® may help increase your eyes' natural ability to produce tears†, which may be reduced by inflammation due to Chronic Dry Eye.
†Increased tear production was seen at 6 months.
Artificial tears/over-the-counter eye drops, such as REFRESH®
Lubricant Eye Drops, can only provide temporary relief, but do
not increase your eyes' natural ability to make their own tears. Allow 15 minutes between use of RESTASIS® and artificial tears.
Tear duct or punctal plugs
Plugs are inserted by an eye doctor to close the ducts that drain
tears from your eyes.
You should discuss your options with an eye doctor to find what treatment
may be right for you. Learn more about talking to your eye doctor.
RESTASIS® and RESTASIS
MultiDose® Ophthalmic Emulsion
help increase your eyes’ natural
ability to produce tears, which may
be reduced by inflammation due to
Chronic Dry Eye. RESTASIS® and
RESTASIS MultiDose® did not
increase tear production in patients
using anti-inflammatory eye drops
or tear duct plugs.
Important Safety Information
Do not use RESTASIS® and
RESTASIS MultiDose® Ophthalmic
Emulsion if you are allergic to any
