Chronic Dry Eye Patient and Eye Doctor

Understanding RESTASIS®

Treatment Options

There are several ways to manage Chronic Dry Eye disease if your eyes are
not making enough tears.

Dry Eye Quiz

RESTASIS®

RESTASIS® is the only eye drop that helps increase your eyes’ natural ability to produce tears, which may be reduced by inflammation due to Chronic Dry Eye disease. RESTASIS® did not increase tear production in patients using anti-inflammatory eye drops or tear duct plugs.

Artificial Tear Bottle

Artificial tears

Artificial tears/over-the-counter eye drops, such as REFRESH®
Lubricant Eye Drops
, can only provide temporary relief, but do
not increase your eyes' natural ability to make their own tears. Allow 15 minutes between use of RESTASIS® and artificial tears.

Tear Duct or Punctal Plug

Tear duct or punctal plugs

Plugs are inserted by an eye doctor to close the ducts that drain
tears from your eyes.

You should discuss your options with an eye doctor to find what treatment
may be right for you. Learn more about talking to your eye doctor.
